My wife and I participated in volunteer orientation at a non-profit in Denver, CO called Dry Bones, and it hurt. Hundreds of teenagers and young adults are living in society, but are sleeping in the cracks and crevices of the city. We walked along the Cherry Creek bike path and the Platte River, both providing solitude to the friends of Dry Bones, but not much else. Most are forced onto the streets at a young age for various reasons, but who could be prepared for life at twelve?

Dry Bones has been building friendships with Denver’s street youth for the past nine years. They assist their friends with getting state issued ID’s, counseling, organizing fun events, and arranging for drug rehab. Every day the staff at Dry Bones walks the streets of Denver to build relationships and meet needs. They have several volunteer opportunities and we are excited to join them!
