There is a specific need that has been brought to us by friends we support. Since Homeless Homies started, two of these guys (pictured below) have been instrumental to our cause. Over the past six months, we have had the opportunity to grow close and meet many of their needs, however, our ability pales in comparison with what we can do as a community.

Here’s the scoop: these guys have experienced unimagineable hardships and are using the wisdom gained from their mistakes to rescue other teens from the same consequences. They are receiving terrific mentoring and guidance from a loving church. We want to ensure their tangible needs are met as well. HHF’s mission is to invigorate communities to pool their resources and meet the needs of our neighbors, and we want to offer up the opportunity for you to help us show love to these guys.

Depending on your circles, living in a motel on a weekly basis isn’t all that common. For some, it’s the only way to stay off the streets. It’s typical to find 4+ people splitting costs for one room and this is the situation for our friends today. The truth of it is that the disability payments received by one person is only enough to cover three weeks at the motel. Any additional money received by the roommates is used for other necessities, and it’s difficult to cover the last week of rent. That’s where you can help!

$210 is our goal! There is an urgency behind this as well. They have until Sunday to come up with the money, or else they are back on the streets until the first of the month (when the disability check is depositied). We are also actively working on a long-term housing solution, but none are presently available. We do have some promising leads that we’re working..
